Hey There
I go by Shannon Smith. I was born and raised Shannon Vogt by two big personalities, both performers. Maggi a singer and Ed a lawyer who can recite Shakespeare like nobody’s business. Mom is in a band right now called the Sexy Senior Citizens. I’m from a huge family and I am the youngest. I’m from a south of Chicago town, called Kankakee.
What I Do
Sing jazz, play guitar, and loop live vocals in my performances. I started playing shows about a year ago, inspired by the gentle nudging of my spouse Steven and the sweet kick inside of my belly: my son Ronan. He’s now one year old.
Why I Do It
I dreamed of making music and sharing it with others. Tunes constantly whir in my head and spil out. Most of them insane, but fun nonetheless. I crave musical ideas and vocal expression. Voila!
